On The Border Cinco De Mayo Recap

Tacos, Tequila, and Beer…

May 5th better known as Cinco De Mayo is celebrated worldwide every year. Cinco De Mayo is commonly mistaken as Mexican Independence Day, which isn’t until September 16th. The true relevance to May 5th is the Mexican Armies victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Every year Hispanic themed restaurants such as Chili’s, On The Border, and Fiesta Ole have huge celebration parties. Tune2This got exclusive access to On The Borders “Cinco De Mayo” party last night. On The Border is located at 909 Airport Center Dr in Allentown, PA.

The huge event drew hundreds of people to flood the parking lot event. When we arrived parking was scarce and had to travel quite a bit to get to the party entrance. The line screeched around the building and the inside of the restaurant was packed. The event was strictly 21 and over, and drink tickets were available for $4.00/each.

There was plenty to do while enjoying this party with Live Music, Beer Pong tables, and Quoits. Music was provided by DJ CapCee, and two other DJs kept people dancing all night. Beer pong tables brought friends and strangers together. There was plenty of mingling among people as the place was crowded.

The drink station lines were packed all night, as was the line of people waiting to get into the event. Overall this is a solid event and it was great to see people come together and keep it peaceful all night.
